Alarm Systems & Monitoring

Sector Overview

Alarm systems are the part of a security system that detects a problem and calls for a response. This sector covers alarm control panels and keypads, intrusion sensors such as door and window contacts, motion detectors and glass-break sensors, and the sirens, strobes and outdoor annunciators that announce an alarm on site.

Getting an alarm to the right people is just as important as detecting it. Exhibitors in this sector show cellular, IP and radio alarm communicators, central station receivers and automation software, remote video monitoring and video-verified alarms, and the monitoring services that dealers resell to their customers.

Alarms increasingly tie into the rest of the property line. Fence-mounted intrusion detection, gate and door position monitoring, access control events, and fire and life-safety interfaces all report through the same panel. The Security Show brings panel and sensor manufacturers, communicator makers, monitoring centers, and the dealers and integrators who install them onto one show floor.
